Harbin Institute of Electronics and Computing Technology (hereinafter referred to as HIECT), also known as Harbin Display Engineering Research Center, is one of major designated suppliers of the national overseas-aid electronic sports equipment, designated suppliers of overseas-aid display panel project of Foreign Aid Department of the Ministry of Commerce, and pioneering LED panel manufacturers around the country. Being a strong high-tech enterprise, HIECT is engaged in the computer network design and installation, production process control, integrated wiring, technology prevention engineering, and satellite receiving facility installation. Since 1989 when China's first large-scale graph-text display panel developed independently by HIECT, HIECT has gone through decades of endeavors in making a great progress in the display panel design, project implementation, and scientific research. As a result, a complete array of products have formed, with the large-size electronic display panel, electronic sports equipment, system integration, LED lighting project and the financial information and passenger information release system being the mainstay.
　　HIECT is located in Harbin High-Tech Development Zone, with beautiful environment and convenient traffic. HIECT has been implementing the human resources strategy of talent being the largest capital, and focusing on staff training and development. Now, HIECT possesses land area of over 5,000 square meters, and employs 72 people, of whom five are technology researchers and senior engineers entitled to the special government allowances given by the State Council, 18 senior engineers, and 42 engineers. The employees with above-college educational background account for 90% of all the staff. In particular, the company's management, development, technology personnel is all with all master's degree. Over the past years, the talented software engineers and market researchers have been making wholehearted efforts in building HIECT into an intensive high-tech technology-application research institute, depending on their excellent software technology, meticulous work spirit and perseverance and fortitude. Now, thanks to years of the staff’s struggling and efforts, there are 21 scientific research findings and achievements in total having won the scientific and technological progress awards at the national, ministerial, provincial and municipal level respectively. Besides, HIECT has obtained a number of national patents.
